Vancouver Hiking

Located in Lynn Headwaters Park

Lynn Peak : Distance 8 km. Elevation gain 714m. High Point 921 m. Time : 3 - 4 hr. To find the start of this trail drive to Lynn Headwaters Regional park . Cross the bridge at the startand take the road to your right . After 100m. Look for the sign , Lynn Loop Trail . Turn left here . About 200m., is the turn off for the peak trail . The trail starts out fairly nice but soon changes into a small boulder field . Maybe I'm just getting old but , I didn't enjoy this trail much . There are a few old growth trees left from the past logging operations. The trail will give you a good work out on a rainy day . Which is about all I can say for it . I will go back however because most of the viewpoints were fogged in . At 625 m. The first view point is on your right and you'll get a peek of Mt. Seymour across the valley . Go on for another 40 min . to reach the Blimp lookout . You will find a good place to take in the view and take a much needed water break . There is one more really nice view point about 25 min past this one , which has a good view of the other side of the valley . Look for the moss covered rocks to the east side of the trail. From here, you can see downtown Vancouver , the Gulf Islands , Grouse Mountain .On you go after a short rest to the top , take heart you are only 20 min away from the peak .
