Most Vancouver winters are six months of rain . There is a long standing joke , "What do you call two days of rain ?
" The weekend ! I like to spend the month of June on the beach soaking up some much needed sun . By the end of July most
of the snow on the peaks has melted ,and the sound of the " Rats with Wings " ( seagulls ) are driving me crazy
Yes it's time to hit the hills and back country . Vancouver has some of the best hiking in Canada . All of it is within easy
reach of the city . Here you'll find some of my favourites . I have also posted some links , pics , tips, a few maps , and

A bit about me; I started this webpage so I could share trails & trips with my fellow hikers . Some of the things
I enjoy are ; hiking , photography , cooking , snowshoeing, roller blading , camping ,reading ,computers,mountain biking ,
kayaking, and travelling . I work for a large soft drink bottler in Vancouver . This is a fast paced enviroment so I find my
time on the trails is a great way to release stress . I moved to the west coast when I was 12 and love the fact that there
are still places to explore every weekend . I also think British Columbia is " The " best place in Canada to live.
When I'm not hiking or working on this page you can find me hanging out at Club Tread under the name " The
Club Tread... Vancouvers largest(and best) Hiking Club.
Backpacking: An extended form of hiking
in which people carry double the
amount of gear they need for half the distance they planned to go in twice
it should take.
